The Philippines continues to excel in the field of figure skating. The country’s junior figure skating team showed its might with a six-gold haul in the 2015 Asian Junior Figure Skating Challenge (AJFSC) in Hong Kong recently. Emee Marjorie Dy of Manila Figure Skating Club led the delegation and was triumphant in the basic junior ladies category, her second straight conquest in the division.
Michael Christian Martinez managed to end up second in the free skating segment of the 2015 Asian Open Figure Skating tournament in Bangkok, Thailand but racked up enough points to come out as the overall winner of the Senior Men category over at Bangkok, Thailand.
OLYMPIAN Michael Martinez is slowly finding out that if he wants to improve on his craft, he must take risks. To become a better figure-skater, he has to work on a new routine and a new jump, which will help him take on new challenges in the second half of the year. The challenge for Michael is learning how to do the quad jumps with perfection.
